The DC-8 has quite a large number of fans as it turns out to be a classic juts like the Boeing 707. Airlines had still their retro color scheme which brings back memories of the time seeing those smokey jet engined pioneers. Inflight has a good taste when it comes to replicating classics. The heavy metal frame gives the model a solid look while the shiny paint job gives it a sleek finish. With the Italian flag on the tail wing and the light blue striped cheat line assures the attention grabbing of your model display cabinet. Do not waste any time since this already 3 year old model is scarcely available in new condition in the market.

This bird rolled out of the Douglas Factory with msn 45910 on January 9th 1967 for Alitalia under this registration and named "Gioacchino Rossini". Alitalia further leased on 1977 to 1979 to LAM Mozambique. Then sold to Sea & Sun Airlines in the US re registered as N39307 in 1988 and further moved on to the hands of MGM Grand Air with N803MG on March 1990. In the mean time it was used by Kitty Hawk Intl. and Exrpess Net Airlines. It got further sold to American Intl, Airlines in April of 1995 for only 4 months who also sold it to Trans Continental Airlines registering it as N181SK on August of 1995. Only three years later it got leased to Kuwait Airways and in 1999 became a part of Air Cargo Chartering's fleet registered as 9G-REM.

The aircraft crashed in Kinshasa in the possession of Continental Cargo airlines on October 16th, 1999, due to equipment malfunction. 8 people aboard, all crew, survived the crash.

Since I got plenty of enthusiastic mails about the previous B727 of PanAm, I figured I should keep you all satisfied with another north American carrier. This is still in the works of Gemini and available for preorder only, since the market will be expecting them soon. As we all know, Geminis' 200 series is a very exceptional line of models listed in the tops of "value for money". If you're a Northwest fan , then this "bowling shoe" livery of this classic airliner should already be programed for deduction from your future cash!

This 1980 built B727-251/WL with c/n 22543 was registered for Northwest ( back then carried the Northwest Orient Airlines color scheme) on July 1st 1981 as N203US and was in service until 2003. Then further sold to Antonov Dealer Corp. registered as N727AN, painted as white as milk. Further on to 2005 sold on Turan Air under registration 4K-AZ9 but remained blank and white. Two years later re registered as 4K-8888 and still in service under ESW (ESW Business Aviation) in Azerbaijan painted with a golden belly and a detailed texture on half of the tail wing as seen on photo. Somewhere along the way, that bird got an upgrade with winglets!

I have posted new reviews on eztoys.com for Both Herpa and GJ Mohawk Convair 440. The United Jet-x Friendship B727-200s have also been reviewed.

I mainly do US or Canadian aircraft. I enjoy finding out the history of the airframe and looking at pictures and comparing them to the models.

I like to use Airliners.net and JZjets as sources of images and records of the airframe and its history. Often I will Google the tail number and it will come back with many pages of sources to explore.

Suggestions for Inflight

it took me several days to come up with this list. People were asked to make suggestions for Inflgiht200 models. Of course I have my own bias on a list and mostly am interested in North American airlines mostly US and Canada.

These were the moulds for suggested models:

If IF would like, I am willing to do a survey of photos and tail numbers. I personally like
models that have a history that goes with airframe (like D. B. Cooper) and also where
registration numbers carry over into another airline or the airframe moved from one
airline to another. The more hits on this, the more a collector will appreciate models
of an airframe in history.

I am not particularly into tragedies...like the Pan Am or TWA B747 incidents but if a plane was involved in a significant historical event than a model of it would be nice to have in my collection.

I noticed the 747 is not on the list BUT I am going to make some suggestions.  B747      Air Force One...we have no metal version of this plane and     there are a ton of pix to make the most perfect model.  Maybe it     could come with stairs, tow vehicle and red carpet, the president,first lady and     a limo.  It is a very special plane and these kinds of extras would make it a big seller.  AV200 and GJ200 could also generate such a model with their moulds and the access they have.

Canadian Airlines Proud Wings B747-400  This I think is the prettiest liver of all of the Canadian airlines, ever National Airlines Sun King B747-200.  The Sun King logo and colors are perfect for a B747, plus this would go good with the two DC-10s and the 727s that have been issued by IF and other model makers.   B727-200   Boeing House Colors...we have the -100 but no -200 and this idea seems to be ignored by the other model makes as well. Continental Golden Jet.  The Golden Jet colors have totally been ignored in 200 scale and it was gorgeous livery at the time the Jet Age was coming into play. UPS--I think it flew in at least two different colors Air Florida Blue and Green colors, N274AF or N271AF as examples  B727-100  Continental Golden Jet N2472 Northern Air Cargo  Northwest Orient N727-051 N467US  white top     D. B Cooper, after his out the back door escape as a hijacker,     airlines sealed the backs of 727s so no one else could jump out of the      back of an aircraft.  The model should include a thumbnail sketch of     the Cooper story.  Flight 305, PDX-SEA UPS all liveries Reeves Aleutian (N831RV, N832RV, SP-BAR examples)  They also had a "last livery"             just before folding Alaska 5 tails  Make these a limited addition and with a "set" discount. 50 or 75             models. Wein Air Alaska B727-22C N498WC Trump VP-BDJ Don't care for the guy all that much but his plane would make a great model just like Playboy DC-9  DC-10-30 United Friendship colors United Stars and Bars colors World Airways American Airlines multiple colors and finishes CP Air Orange use other reg. than Herpa CP Air Orange Expo Air Florida -30CF N103TV or N101TV as examples Wardair Canada Hawaiian Airlines 70th Anniversary livery Western Airlings Flying W Londoner Western Airlines polished belly  B707-320 Braniff Eldordo color.
